One Community Bank Announces 2022 Scholarship Recipients
One Community Bank is excited to announce the three recipients of the OCB Scholarship! OCB launched its scholarship program in April of 2021, with the commitment to grant three $1,000 scholarships each year. The application process was open to all high school seniors graduating in any of the communities that we serve. This year we had 31 applicants. Congratulations to the following recipients:
Lydia Gold of Madison, WI graduated from La Follette High School and will use her scholarship funds towards her education at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. She plans on studying educational policy. Lydia was the president of her 4H club and belonged to the Madison Cello Ensemble. Through her love of service and music she has been able to give back to the community in a variety of unique ways.
Mason Rake of Grand Marsh, WI graduated from Destinations Career Academy of Wisconsin, a homeschool program. He will use his scholarship funds towards his education at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, Wisconsin. He plans on studying information systems security and hopes to prevent cyberattacks in the future. He enjoys helping his elderly neighbors and lending a hand at Ruby’s Pantry.
Sam Derrick of Brooklyn, WI graduated from Oregon High School and is a colleague of One Community Bank. Sam will use her scholarship funds towards her education at UW-Lacrosse where she will major in Finance and minor in Business. Sam is excited to stay employed with OCB while she attends school. Sam enjoys making blankets for children at the American Children’s Hospital and assisting in the Badger Honor Flight.

This scholarship program aligns with One Community Bank’s commitment to invest in our communities. The eligibility requirements to apply for the scholarships were as follows: the applicant must be a graduating high school senior, must be in good academic standing, and have post-graduation plans at a 2-year or 4-year institution; a technical or trade school; or an apprenticeship program. The application process also required an essay on community service and involvement. One Community Bank is excited to continue this investment into our communities for years to come.
